Copyright infringement notice

How to report a Store asset that infringes your rights, how a counter-notice works, and what happens to repeat infringers.

Last updated 11 October 2026

1.Before you report

If you have an account, the fastest way is the «Report» button on the asset's page: it opens a form that goes straight to whoever moderates the Store. This page describes the same procedure for anyone who prefers, or needs, to write by email — and it is the only route for anyone without an account.

2.What the notice must contain

  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is being infringed.
  • The address (URL) of the Store asset that allegedly infringes it.
  • Your contact details: name, address, phone or email.
  • A good-faith statement that the disputed use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information provided is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
  • A signature, electronic is fine.

Send it to [email protected]. A notice missing these elements may be rejected without further review.

3.What happens next

Every report is seen by a person, never removed automatically. If the notice is complete and the infringement looks well-founded, the asset is suspended from the storefront while the review continues. Whoever published it is told why.

4.Counter-notice

Whoever published a removed asset may dispute the report by writing to the same address, with: identification of the removed asset, a good-faith statement that the removal was due to a mistake or misidentification, the court with jurisdiction under the Terms of Service (Milan, unless you are a consumer), and the same contact details and signature required above. A well-founded counter-notice leads to the asset being reinstated.

5.False reports, and repeat infringers

A report filed in bad faith, to target a competitor or with no basis at all, is itself a breach of the Terms of Service. An author whose assets are repeatedly removed for well-founded infringement has their Store access suspended: there is no fixed number of reports that triggers this automatically — every case is reviewed by a person — but the history of prior actions weighs on the decision.

6.Reports that are not about copyright

The same route applies to anyone who believes content — on the Store or in a project — infringes their right of publicity or a trade mark, is an intimate image shared without consent, depicts a real person deceptively, sexualises minors, or is otherwise unlawful. Say where the content is, what makes it unlawful, and how to reach you: every report is seen by a person, and cases involving minors or intimate images take priority.

For these reports write to [email protected]. The «Report» button on an asset's page reaches the same queue. Where the law requires it, we report content to the competent authorities.

7.A limit to be aware of

This procedure follows the US notice-and-takedown model because it is what publishers expect, but it does not, by itself, amount to the protections that law gives intermediaries: we take every report seriously without its mere existence guaranteeing an outcome.
